Side By Side with Ben Bubar After 1 Year

Side By Side with Ben Bubar After 1 Year

Side By Side with Ben Bubar on Lessons Learned After 1st Year on Staff

2 Things From This Episode

Pastor Ben Bubar shares his lessons learned from being on staff at Victory Hamilton Mill as the Children’s Ministry Pastor for 1 year. How did he handle doing something new? What was it like for him to take over the largest ministry in the church? What did he learn about himself and those around him? If you’re doing something new or getting ready to step into a new role there will be highs, lows and everything in between. How will you handle your first year on the job? Let’s talk about it.

1. From ready to running.

For the 1st 6 months we were really carrying the ministry ourselves. After a few months things didn’t change, we got better. In a new role, things don’t slow down, you have to get better at running. In a high paced organization you have to come in quickly and catch up.

It’s like working out or running, the more you do it the better you get at it.

2. I can do this?

The role I’m in is never something I would have volunteered for but now I’m having so much fun and I love it. I get to reinforce what’s already happening at home. Whether we’re talking about their everyday lives or God, it’s awesome when you see them “get it”. Kids are like us, sometimes they just need to hear the truth from a different voice.
