Interview with Cyndi Amaya on Leading Over the Long Haul

3 Things From This Episode

While many people are asking; “What does it take to lead?” what if we ask; “What does it take to be a faithful leader?” Will your leadership, your influence, be measured in days or decades? It’s become all too common for leaders to start serving with passion and end with burnout. What does it take to be a leader over the long haul? Let’s talk about it.

1. Boundaries and bitterness

The two biggest enemies of longevity are lack of boundaries and the presence of bitterness. We have to understand the power of; “No.” All things in ministry are good but it's not good to do all the things in ministry. Share on X Just like boundaries protect your time staying free from bitterness protects your heart. The enemy wants to bring division, especially in leadership. Keeping your heart free from offense is a key to staying healthy in ministry.

2. Have a vision for your why

You have to know why you’re doing what you’re doing. You have to have a vision for your why. Why do you do the things you do? What is the purpose behind all that you give? When you know the “Why” it will help you understand the “How.”

3. Have a Team Mentality

Having a team mentality is a must. Leaders can’t be Lone Rangers. If we’re not duplicating ourselves then we’re not leaving a lot of room for the Lord to work.We must ask ourselves, “Is it God’s ministry or is it our ministry?

Is it God's ministry or is it our ministry? Share on X

We can only take it so far then we must let go, let God come in and take control.
