April – 2019 Monthly Leadership Session with Natalie Born

Natalie Born is a Senior Vice President of Business Development with over 15 years of experience leading teams through transformation and global expansion. How do you develop personal drive? How can we overcome fear and what does true diversity looks like? Let’s talk about it.

2 Highlights From This Episode

1. How do you develop the drive to do what others just talk about?

Too many people want to go from mountaintop to mountaintop but when you need to accomplish something great you have to remember that you were created for the valleys. When you’re doing something new the key is to fail fast, fail cheap and fail forward. Leaders can create things that haven’t existed before. We learn by failing and can’t run from it. When you know you can do it and must push through, you realize that fear is not your friend. Leaders with this kind of drive aren’t stopped by anything.

2. What’s the true impact of diversity on our leadership?

Our brains like to put people into categories. We’re always trying to figure out people as fast as possible. Diversity is more than a skin color. True diversity is a weaving together of our experiences. Although we may come from different cultural experiences, that does not define us. What defines us is what we do with those experiences. Be willing to bring your whole self to the table.
