January 2017 Monthly Leadership Session – Passion

January – 2017 Monthly Leadership Session.

3 Things From This Episode

Are you passionate about what you’re doing? A better question is; are you just as passionate about what you’re doing or have you lost some of the fire you once had? Many people start out with a fire to do what they’re doing but something happens. Life creeps in and that fire creeps out. How can we get our passion back? How can we rekindle the desire to see all the things that Jesus promised come to past? Let’s talk about it.

1. We must maintain our spark

When we are leading others we have to be an example of what a passionate life looks like. Share on X Passionate people are contagious. The passion that changes people is a heart that sets a goals and despite the circumstances, despite what life throws at it, stays true and sees it to the end. If we want people to be passionate and committed to serving with us then we need to give them something worth following.

2. Stir yourself up

Often times we lose our passion because we forgot our why. We forget why we’re doing what we’re doing and what was once deep desire in our hearts becomes a weekend job. Peter reminds us to stir ourselves up “by way of reminder.” (2 Peter 1:13) To get back to your “why” go back to your “yes.” To get back to why you do what you do go back to when you said yes to the Lord. What did He say then and what is He saying now? To connect to the passion that was inside of you sometimes you simply have to remember why you started.

3. Get around passionate people

The truth is some people fuel us and others drain us. Share on X If you spend all your time around people who pull from you then you will become empty, you will become dry and you will lose your passion. Passionate leaders make a point to get around other people who are on fire. Turns out birds of a feather really do flock together. Who is refueling you? Who do you see and think; “Wow. They love what they do!” Get around people who make you want to be better at what you do. Passionate people are contagious.
